Oh, I can't tell you how I wish there was a ctl+z to undo what I have done in my classroom. Wouldn't that be wonderful. If you figure out how to make that happen, let me know!

This speaks volumes:
' the truth is that I think it does speak to part of why I really do think I’m made to teach. I’m never going to be satisfied with only seeing that spark in a few students: but there’s no way in hell it’s not going to encourage me.'
I believe that one has to have a certain innate 'something' in order to be a great teacher. If one don't have that innate quality, it doesn't matter how hard one tries, one can only ever be a reasonable teacher. It sounds as if you have that 'something'! Good luck.
I've been teaching for over 25 years and I still love going to school every day :)

Fact of the matter is that I'm almost entirely bi-lingual. And I am more than 3.2% happier on a Mac, but all my students are on PC - so I'm re-aquainting myself with the wonderful world of Windows 7. And I must admit (some teething issues with our schools roll-out aside) - 7 is a lot better than I expected.

Anytime you get as excited as you have been about this career change, and you've got half an ounce of talent, things are going to work out fine.

What a shame though that you're CTRL-ing, instead of CMD-ing. You're 3.2% happier on a Mac. ;-)
